Trinity Seanad Election 2007: A Senator Campaigns For The Underdog

Posted on: June 7th, 2007

Ballot papers will be distributed to all Dublin University graduates from 19th June for the Trinity Constituency. Firstly, I must thank these graduates for allowing me the last five energetic years in the Seanad. Today you may well ask: Why should you re-elect me as an independent Dublin University Senator? Here, I shall try to respond.

Why? Because I have not spent just the last five weeks campaigning; nor just the last five months – I have been campaigning ceaselessly for the last five years.

I have campaigned for the rights of the underdog; for the little citizen; for the victims of the M50 motorway; for the small business; for the voiceless shareholder; for the stressed parents of young children; for the innocent customers of big banks; for minorities who are bullied by powerful vested interests.

Last year I was lucky enough to be awarded the coveted Campaigning Politician of the Year award by Magill Magazine.

Please allow me to continue campaigning. To do so, I will need your NUMBER ONE VOTE in the Senate election.
