The closure of Glenalbyn Swimming Pool was announced in Autumn 2013, and 14 months on, we are still waiting for news of a re-opening. Young children, pensioners, teachers, clubs and other affected parties voiced their anger at the closure at a public meeting last week. We should be catering for young and old as well as those with special needs and health issues. People of the area wish to send a clear message to the Council that the re-opening of the Glenalbyn Swimming Pool is not only a need, but a demand, of the local community. We the undersigned call for the Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council to re-open Glenalbyn Swimming Pool as a matter of urgency. Please contact Deputy Shane Ross at (Enable Javascript to see the email address) or Councillor Deirdre Donnelly at (Enable Javascript to see the email address) for more information.
